Mistressbate: A New Musical (A Reading!)

Sat Sep 7 @ 9:30PM

When St. Chastity High's most popular girl, Blaise Paige, gets suspended for releasing a video of herself masturbating with a selfie-stick, the entire school implodes. Without the social hierarchy gatekeeper herself, who's still your friend? Who's now your enemy? Amidst this tumult, three girls step forward and claim it is actually them (their bodies, their hands, their selfie sticks) in the video, and that Blaise should be exonerated. An investigation is kicked off by a group of incompetent adults. This random crop of new suspects includes Kiki, the Pokemon-loving, least popular girl in school; Paige Blaise, the Swedish over-achieving foreign exchange student; and Angela, Blaise's best friend. Who's telling the truth? And why do these three have reason to lie? It's Dear Evan Hansen meets Mean Girls. It's a musical, but for kids who were popular in high school. An exploration of young sexual frustration, intimate female friendships, and the merits of bullying, Mistressbate will have you wondering who to sympathize with. Also, the songs are super catchy. Come see a reading of this new original musical by Sophie Zucker (Comedy Central)!

Featuring: Sophie Zucker, Ian Lockwood, Maya Sharma, Justin Linville, Kyle Gordon, Lucyana Randall, Andrés Govea, Charlie Bardey, and the Ladies Who Ranch (Kelly Cooper, Caitlin Dullea, Caroline Yost)

Woof! Another Consecutive Yr of Living / Where U Belong

Sun Aug 4 @ 8:30PM

Another Consecutive Yr of Living

Another Consecutive Year of Living (ACYOL) is a serial birthday play about Evan Garrett’s 29th year on this planet. Starting on May 12th, 2019, Evan will write and perform a 30-minute play every week to illuminate the events that occurred that week. In 2020, for his 30th birthday, he will perform all 48 plays in one 24-hour event. The goal: create a process piece communicating how one person can change over the course of 52 weeks.

For Evan, this epic process is a question about if he can consistently make art he believes in when confronted with the repetition of life. Will this play light a path for Evan to continue on? Or will it act as a love letter saying good-bye to a dream-- exhausting the creative air from within him and reifying himself to the endless excel sheets on his screen?

Each week will guide him along the way; maybe at 30 he will learn which way he wants to go...

ACYOL is updated every week-- join us on our website and Facebook page

Where U Belong

Murder On The Murder Train: A Mystery With Murder

Sat, Apr 13 @ 11pm

Murder is typically cut and dry. Someone gets killed. The law hands a pretty harsh punishment on whoever murdered Victim Whatever Victim Number It Was. Could be life in prison. Could be more. Could be less if the lawyer is famous or pretty good at their job. It's always good to be good at your job, even if you're trying to let murderers off with less time.

But, sometimes a murderer is on the loose or put even the slightest amount of forethought into their murder and there is a mystery - if you will, a murder mystery - as to who the killer is, why they did it, what weapon, blah blah blah, you understand. Then, society picks the most important people to be on the case of solving the murder: Fanciful Community Theater Companies.

Somehow, Fanciful Community Theater Companies have become the pinnacle, the best, the most un-worst...you know what, using pinnacle up top was the best word for this...at helping solving mysteries of the murder kind. They will answer the question, "Who did the murder?...Was there even a murder at all?" First stop, ask the dead guy.

This will be like Clue on steroids.

Part buddy comedy, part sci-fi exploration, The Singularity is Here blends high-energy live performance with creative multimedia elements as it follows two dolts who unwittingly end up in this techno-utopia.
