This workshop is limited to 10 students.
Crafting Characters is the workshop for any comedian looking to hone their comedic character skills. Want to create a set for an SNL or JFL audition? Working on a solo show? Wanna post your character videos on TikTok and the rest? This workshop will teach you the skills needed to make your characters pop for both live performance and filmed content.
This class will culminate in a performance at Eris Deep Space.
Prerequisite: Completion of BCC Level 1 Sketch or Level 1 Improv. We will also accept students who have taken at least one full-length Sketch/Improv course at a major comedy theater (UCB, PIT, Magnet, Squirrel, Second City, iO, Annoyance, etc.) or have similar prior training or performance experience can begin at this level. Please write your prior experience in the form when registering.
5-Week Class: Sundays, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, January 11th - February 8th
Note: Class may end between 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM depending on the number of enrollments.
Class Show: Sunday, February 8th. 7:00 PM. Eris Deep Space.
Bio:
Yoni Lotan is a veteran NYC improviser who’s made waves with his long-standing improv team, Duchovny. As an actor, he’s appeared in shows including Hacks, Russian Doll, High Maintenance & Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, films including Please Don’t Destroy: Treasure of Foggy Mountain and Rough Night. He’s also known for JFL: New Faces. Yoni brings years of experience to the table as instructor as well as his trademark enthusiasm and playfulness.

Students enrolled in multi-week classes get into all shows at the BCC for free. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of their student IDs to see as many shows as possible. By registering, you agree to make your best effort to see at least two shows during your class.
