in this intensive workshop with a master of interactive character comedy, you will embark on a journey based in clown and physical theater to birth and hone electrifying characters that audiences will love, rooted deeply in who you are. We will learn about your character's unique connection to the audience, their mission, and their special brand of vulnerable ferocity.
In this intensive, expect the following!
The beginning, or the deepening, of a character that is uniquely yours and unstoppably lovable, and actual material you can take out of this intensive and onto a stage
Personalized feedback (and plenty of it)
Discovery and exploration of your character's favorite games and physical/emotional "sweet spots"
More understanding of what “stage magnetism” means for you, and how to really harness your performative power.
A deeper connection to and understanding of your audience

This workshop is ideal for performers of any kind, improvisers, clowns, stand-up comedians, actors, movers, and anyone who wants to find/hone their own magnetic, funny and brave persona to play through on stage.

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Deanna Fleysher aka Big D is a character comedian and clown with 20+ years experience in masculine impersonation and general idiocy. She has toured the world with her solo character clown show BUTT KAPINSKI, her new duo show CINEPRIXX, and her workshops in character, clown, and drag. She has directed/co-created over 30+ solo character clown shows, supporting artists from all over the world in finding and honing their own unstoppable characters.
