Steel Chair to the Head w/ Omari Soulfinger
Steel Chair to the Head is a physical theatre workshop exploring what performers can learn from professional wrestling about storytelling through physical conflict. Using clown games, cooperative conflict choreography, and ensemble-based movement (no wrestling involved), participants investigate character archetypes, narrative logic, audience relationship, and the art of building “heat” and earning a “pop.” Open to clowns, dancers, actors, and curious movers, this space invites artists to play boldly, move clearly, and rehearse intelligible images of struggle together.
A great tool for clowns, Bouffons, improvisers & sketch comedians.
Where: The BCC DogHouse, Studio #2 (137 Montrose Ave, Brooklyn)
Drop-in Class: Saturday, March 28th, 12:00PM - 3:00 PM

Bio:
Omari Soulfinger (he/they) is a Brooklyn-born and raised clown, theatre-maker, ritualist, and restorative justice practitioner whose work explores physical storytelling, conflict, and audience connection. Drawing from Bouffon clown, Theatre of the Oppressed, he creates workshops and performances that use humor, physical play, and social norm disruption to build high-stakes narratives that challenge the "fourth wall".
