Workshop limited to 16 students.
This three-week musical improvisation elective is designed for performers who want to level up their song work with clarity, confidence, and consistency. We’ll break down song structure so you can recognize it, build it, and nail it every time — whether you're launching into a solo, leading an ensemble number, or heightening a group piece.
In this focused intensive, students will:
Strengthen their understanding of different song structures
Create compelling melody lines
Build songs with punchlines that actually punch
Sharpen rhyming skills through drills and high-energy games
Develop stage presence that commands attention
Explore how to make bold, specific choices that celebrate your individual strengths
Discover and trust their own authentic musical voice
You’ll leave this course more fearless, more precise, and more you. Perfect for improvisers who want their musical moments to feel grounded, dynamic, and unmistakably original.
Prerequisite: Musical Improv 1 at BCC
Time: April 4th, April 11th, & April 18th. 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

Where: You will receive location upon signup for class. Classes are at 130 Graham Ave, 144 Boerum Street, or 137 Montrose Ave. All in Brooklyn

Bio:
Ali Reed is an actor, improviser, producer and educator that dreams of bringing improvised musical theater to Broadway. She has toured globally with productions like Baby Wants Candy, Shamilton, and Thrones! The Musical Parody, and performed Off-Broadway in Once Upon A Mattress and Blank! The Musical. Reed has regional credits nationwide and has played on house teams at The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Magnet Theater, and The PIT. A co-creator of Shitzprobe, she showcases Broadway stars in improvised musicals. Reed facilitates musical improv as an artist-in-residence at Carnegie Hall Ensemble Connect, Princeton University, The American High School Theatre Festival, and more. Currently, she performs in NYC with Baby Wants Candy, Shitzprobe, and Your Love Our Musical. Follow @alisreed.
