Workshop limited to 16 students.

What do we sacrifice when we prioritize "game" over world-building? What is possible in our improv when we do the latter in service of the former? In this workshop, participants practice integrating game only once they've earned it through scenic clarity, strong character and emotional stakes. Whether you're new to game, or a veteran, this workshop will challenge you to avoid the trap of game for game's sake. Rather, through specific deals/POVs, environmental exploration and a recommitment to truth in comedy, participants will learn to organically discover game in rich and textured scenes. 

Prerequisite: Completion of at least Level 1 Improv at a major comedy theater.

When: Saturday, March 21st, 3:00pm-6:00pm

Note: This class may end between 5:30pm and 6:00pm depending on enrollment size.

Bio:

Hannah Rehak is a performer, podcast producer and filmmaker with over a decade of experience in improv and sketch comedy. Originally from Chicago, she trained at iO and The Annoyance, coached at CIC, performed regularly at Logan Square Improv, and understudied Second City's touring company and the ETC. Hannah currently works at various theaters in New York coaching and directing improv/sketch. She performs with Donna's Beef and Foster & Lawrence — and she produces a handful of shows including: Fuck It Film Festival, Mouth-to-Mouth and Smallprov.
