[Oct-Dec] Musical Improv Level 3 w/ Ali Reed (Oct-Dec '26) (Wednesday)
[Oct-Dec] Musical Improv Level 3 w/ Ali Reed (Oct-Dec '26) (Wednesday)
This class is limited to 16 students.
In Musical Improv 301, we’ll spend the first 5 classes continuing our skill-building including narrative moves, interview-based songs, finding humor in difficult content, improving harmonies and musicality, walk-ons, and rap battles. Throughout these classes, the students will be asked to think about and devise a pitch for a musical show, which can be a traditional form or an original one.
The next 2 classes will give students an opportunity to workshop their original idea for the public, followed by director notes and class-driven analysis to help diagnose issues, ask questions, and strengthen our collective instincts.
The class will culminate with a MainStage show, for which students will be expected to come up with a show title, theme/hook, poster, and marketing plan to prepare them for producing their own original shows going forward!

Testimonials:
Ali is a phenomenal teacher. She is energetic, encouraging, and brings so much life to each class.
Ali always made us feel like she believed in us and this was very empowering. Even if she was giving a note it was given with so much love.
I really appreciate Ali’s kindness and passion. She’s so great at bringing the class together while being a natural leader. Her energy is infectious and I’d take a class with Ali again any day.
Students enrolled in multi-week classes get into all shows at the BCC for free. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of their student IDs to see as many shows as possible. By registering, you agree to make your best effort to see at least two shows during your class.
