Crafting Characters
This workshop is limited to 10 students.
Crafting Characters is the workshop for any comedian looking to hone their comedic character skills. Want to create a set for an SNL or JFL audition? Working on a solo show? Wanna post your character videos on TikTok and the rest? This workshop will teach you the skills needed to make your characters pop for both live performance and filmed content.
This class will culminate in a performance at the BCC Pig Pen.
Prerequisite: Completion of BCC Level 1 Sketch or Level 1 Improv. We will also accept students who have taken at least one full-length Sketch/Improv course at a major comedy theater (UCB, PIT, Magnet, Squirrel, Second City, iO, Annoyance, etc.) or have similar prior training or performance experience can begin at this level. Please write your prior experience in the form when registering.
5-Week Class: Sunday, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, September 13th - October 11th
Note: Class may end between 8:30 PM - 9:00 PM depending on the number of enrollments.
You will receive a welcome email with your room assignment. Our classes meet at BCC Pig Pen or BCC DogHouse in East Williamsburg.
Class Show: Tuesday, October 13th. Eris MainStage (167 Graham Ave).
Bio:
Camden Garcia is an award winning actor, comedian, and writer originally from Los Angeles, California currently based in Brooklyn. He has trained and performed at The Second City, UCB, ComedySportz LA, Boston University School of Theatre, and National Theater Institute. He regularly performs stand-up and characters at Union Hall, UCB, & The Bell House, as well as around the country with Stamptown. Select TV credits include: HACKS, Raising Hope, Sprung, My Name is Earl, and Frasier.

Students enrolled in multi-week classes get into all shows at the BCC for free. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of their student IDs to see as many shows as possible. By registering, you agree to make your best effort to see at least two shows during your class.
