Workshop: Honesty In Improv

Are you feeling like your scenes are going off the rails? Too much crazy town? Are you enjoying an 'out there' style of play but feel like you’re not making connections on stage? This workshop takes a hard turn from the absurd and focuses on grounded play and how to anchor your improv in the 'Truth of the Scene'. Students will improvise paced, true-to-life scenes that put emphasis on performing with integrity and the relationship between nuanced characters.
In this workshop you will learn to:

  • Respond to your scene partner honestly and emotionally.

  • Listen and discover scenes step by step, organically, without a suggestion to inspire you.

  • Analyze relationships beyond titles, archetypes or stereotypes.

  • And, if we're lucky, improvise with comedy as a byproduct.

Saturday, June 23 @ 11:30-2:30 PM

@ Vital Joint (109 Meserole St, Brooklyn, NY)
